Looking to bring a well rounded welder fabricator into the shop as a contractor. 1-3 days per week depending on the workload in the shop at that time. Make your own schedule.
We specialize in asphalt dwarf cars and components for them, but there is a wide variety of work coming through the shop at any given time.
You should be able to read and understand engineering drawings, use basic measuring tools, MIG weld mild steel, TIG weld stainless steel and aluminum, have some mechanical knowledge and ability for disassembling and resassembling racecars and components, be able to work with plate, tubing, and sheet metal (bandsaw, brake, plasma, hand tools, ect)
The right person will be self motivated and capable of working independently with minimal oversight. Have excellent attention to detail. Be able to quickly identify potential issues with custom assemblies and propose solutions to fix them and generally be able to think on their feet to avoid delays.
Optional but preferred skills would include CAD/CAM with autodesk fusion, cnc plasma experience, tube notching/coping (with power tools and by hand with a grinder), able to run a Bridgeport mill and or manual lathe
