Job Summary
We are seeking a Part Time compassionate Therapeutic Companion to provide support and assistance (2 hours per week on a weekday) to a woman with developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for this woman. We are someone who lives or works in the local area.
Duties
Provide emotional support and companionship to the individual requiring therapeutic care (no personal care required)
Develop and implement fun and engaging activities together
Engage in patient observation and report any changes in behavior or health to the appropriate personnel
Read aloud with the individual and assist her in reading on her own
Work directly with the individual to set a schedule around existing activities and commitments during the weekdays
Support the individual with developmental disabilities in a hospital setting (no personal care required)
Qualifications
Previous experience in caregiving or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
Ability to provide compassionate care and maintain a positive attitude in challenging situations
Experience creating activities. Teaching experience is a plus.
Strong interest in making a meaningful impact on the life of woman who needs you
A background check will be required. Immunizations will be required. Paid on-site training will be required.
Please note that is a part time position with 2 hours per week on a weekday. This is not a weekend position.
