Job Title: Accounting Specialist Job DescriptionWe’re searching for a skilled financial specialist to join our accounts receivable team to help process, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. The accounts receivable specialist will have both a day-to-day and ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued partners.Responsibilities

Perform daily cash management duties, including the recording of bank deposits, updating and distribution of cash receipt logs, and posting and application of cash to the accounts receivable sub-ledger and customer accounts.

Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted, credits are properly applied, and miscellaneous differences cleared.

Obtain information from other departments to ensure records are accurate and complete and that accounts receivable ledgers and journals are up-to-date.

Research and resolve account discrepancies.

Assist in streamlining the accounts receivable process by identifying areas for performance improvement.

Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting customers.

Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status.

Generate invoices from the system and forward them to the billing clerk, who will then email them to the customer.

Address customer questions by routing them to the proper supervisor.

Enter some invoices manually before billing to customers.

Code invoices and input them into the accounting system payables module (1k a month).

Work closely with the supply coordinator to ensure proper entry of purchase orders for invoice matching.

Reconcile vendor statements.

Prepare and process check/ACH payments for multiple entities on a weekly basis.

Maintain accounts payable files.

Essential Skills

Proven working experience as Accounts Receivable Clerk or accountant.

Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.

Hands-on experience with accounting software.

Proficiency in MS Office.

Intermediate MS Excel skills, including VLookUp and Pivot Table.

Experience in MS Great Plains preferred.

Customer service orientation.

High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting, required.

At least two years to five years of related experience, required.
