Why you'll love this job: Being a member of the Business Architecture Office the Executive Director - Business Architecture plays a senior business leadership role in the organization as well as in major critical initiatives at the firm. Business Architecture is a business function responsible for crafting business & product vision / strategy and finding opportunities for cross-product value creation through enhanced propositions to clients (e.g., more coordinated end-to-end products and experiences). Business Architecture is a strategic function driving enterprise transformation and playing a meaningful role in transformation and product strategy across DTCC working in close collaboration with all business lines at DTCC. To achieve these goals, the team defines product strategies, and delivers on cross-product business capabilities that drive high-impact market structure changes, client solutions, efficiency, and resiliency, and enable the modernization of DTCC to future-state platforms delivering measurable outcomes for DTCC clients. In addition to crafting and carrying out the global Business Architecture vision and strategy, the candidate will craft digital transformation strategies and identify digitalization opportunities across product areas, and work in partnership with technology delivery teams to develop groundbreaking client solutions. The Executive Director will lead a team of individuals that support pivotal initiatives across business units and foundational services, and work with senior leaders and collaborators across Product, IT, Operations, and other functional areas in a highly matrixed environment to solve the most pressing challenges at the intersection of business, technology, and corporate functions. Your Primary Responsibilities: Shape business strategies and define business architecture
  • Develop deep understanding of current business, industry context, regulatory context, future vision, organizational change capabilities and c-suite vision
  • Apply strategic thought process and analytical approach to shaping future state business and product strategy at DTCC
  • Develop enterprise-wide, cross-product and business unit specific strategies that will drive investment decisions and strategic roadmaps
  • Lead large and multifunctional workstreams and projects to design solutions that deliver expected argument and value proposition (risk, resilience, complexity, reuse, total cost of ownership etc.)
Create and support implementation of innovative solutions
  • Display effectiveness in applying frameworks and structure to "ill structured" problems and issues and making the ambitious decisions needed to address the enterprise and/or business divisions priorities to ultimately bring out the best of the organization
  • Synthesize analysis into clear recommendations and findings that contribute value
  • Drive innovation by finding opportunities to digitize and leverage best-in-class technologies and methodologies, including AI/ML, data analytics, intelligent automation, process reengineering, etc., to enhance DTCC products and solutions
  • Foster a culture of entrepreneurship, reuse and collaboration across business units
Establish leadership and manage relationships
  • Create effective working relationships with senior managers and key subject matter authorities
  • Be an agent of change and modernization by demonstrating innovative thinking and leadership
  • Lead meetings, workshops and presentations with senior management
Evolve Business Architecture practice
  • Evolve business architecture relationships, approaches, deliverables, tooling and operating model
  • Prioritize book of work and allocate resources based on senior management business priorities
  • Responsible for talent hiring, management and development
  • Fosters a risk management culture through implementation and demonstration of processes and procedures which identify and mitigate risk

Talents Needed for Success:
  • 15+ years minimum or related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred with master's or equivalent experience
Additional Qualifications
  • Deep expertise and proved track record in leading and delivering on sizeable portfolio of enterprise-wide and business unit specific initiatives in business architecture, enterprise architecture, and/or business/product strategy
  • Ability to build positive relationships internally and externally
  • Strong leadership and experience of line management of large teams (direct and matrixed)
  • Experience in banking, capital markets, or financial services organizations preferred
  • Experience in management consulting at premier firms advising clients on strategic issues
  • Experience in developing product strategy and delivering transformation
  • Ability in working effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment
  • Experience in change management and leading transformation initiatives
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills (ability to engage with C-suite and senior partners internal and external)
  • Proficient with Excel & PowerPoint
