Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an
Application Support Analyst for a Contract assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in Jersey City, NJ (hybrid). Responsibilities :-
- The role is to provide 1st and 2nd line functional support to users
- Work closely with the trading desk to understand requirements and either implement tactical solutions or raise the business requirements to developers
- Leverage ServiceNow to manage incidents and problems. It will also require working closely with all the support teams and development teams across all regions
- Ensure root cause analysis is undertaken for all incidents
- Improve monitoring systems and create scripts to automate the day-to-day support activities
- Users access rights and segregation of duties support
- Monitor:
- Review of daily break reconciliations
- Start of day and intraday checks
- Review the releases which are planned and perform the post release checks
- The team is responsible for monitoring the system availability, proactively preventing system problems, and responding to system incidents when they occur. APS is also responsible for problem analysis, managing system change and ensuring minimal impact to the end users
- We are also implementing DevOps tools (Ansible, Jenkins ) and ELK solution (Elasticsearch Logstash Kibana) for monitoring.
- College graduate with background in IT and Finance
- 5 years of working experience
- Experience working with SQL & Unix/Linux
- Technology used by IMS in production
- Infra Linux RedHat / basic skills on shell/batch scripting for process and resources monitoring
- Infra - Oracle Database / basic sql authentication/executing remote script from a sever (sqlplus tool)
- MDW Apache Tomcat / Configuration and understanding of the Apache architecture
- MDW Java / Being a little familiar with java development kit JDK (for analysis)
- MDW Kafka / List/create/delete topics on a cluster, manipulate offset/ empty the content of specific topic
- MDW MQ, CFT / basic knowledge, raise request to infra.
- Network, Firewall, DNS / basic knowledge, raise request to open flow.
- Loadbalancing - F5, AVI / basic knowledge, raise request to infra.
- Tools Geneos / configure alert + monitoring
- Tools Autosys / create job + Monitoring jobs
- Working knowledge of securities lending and borrowing
- Basic knowledge of short sales and locates
- Basic understanding of transactions booking, positions and inventory management
- Understanding of financial security identifiers (ISIN, Cusip, Sedol, BBG ID, RIC, etc.)
- Understanding of user access management and permissions (users , groups, ACLs
- Basic knowledge of US Domestic settlement (DTC/Bony) and international settlement (SWIFT)
- Prior experience using ServiceNow and Jira tools
- ITIL V3 Foundation Certification
