Core responsibilities
Garment handling and processing: Inspecting items for stains and damage, sorting them by color and fabric, and pre-treating spots before cleaning.
Machine operation: Loading and unloading dry cleaning machines, washers, and dryers, and operating pressing and steaming equipment to remove wrinkles.
Cleaning and finishing: Mixing and adding cleaning agents, solvents, or dyes, and inspecting cleaned garments for quality before they are pressed, ironed, or hung.
Customer service: Greeting customers, taking their orders, and providing information about services.
Supporting duties
Repairs: Performing minor repairs such as replacing buttons or sewing seams.
Quality control: Checking finished items for any imperfections and performing touch-ups as needed.
Packaging and delivery: Tagging and packaging cleaned items for pickup or delivery.
Maintenance: Keeping the work area clean, performing routine maintenance on equipment, and alerting supervisors to needed repairs.
Inventory and tracking: Labeling and tracking items throughout the cleaning process.
Key skills
