Looking for an experienced Diesel Truck Mechanic who will perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance on heavy trucks and other heavy equipment. As a mechanic your focus will be to ensure that all equipment and vehicles are ready and working as needed through proper completion of repairs and maintenance. You'll be responsible for ordering and receiving parts and supplies, as well as completion of paperwork for the office and vendors. Must be able to work full time, in a team environment and maintain a safe and orderly work environment in the Shop and Yard.
JOB DUTIES:
Perform routine repairs
Major component replacements dealing with air brakes, electrical and hydraulic system repairs
Responsible for vehicle inspection, maintenance & repair of company owned sanitation equipment
Provide preventative maintenance to vehicles according to an established schedule
Inspect, test and align trucks in the following areas:
brakes, steering, suspension, transmission, engine, air-conditioner, fuel system, etc.
Adjust all equipment to federal DOT and state standards for motor vehicle inspection and safety standards.
Control and maintain parts inventory. Maintain repair orders, parts usage and other required paperwork
REQUIREMENTS:
Small engine repair experience
Diesel engine repair and maintenance experience
Ability to read and comprehend instruction manuals and diagnostic charts for purpose of learning and troubleshooting and analyze repair of mechanical of electrical nature
Valid drivers license required, CDL preferred
ASE certification a plus
Must have your own basic tools for engine repair/maintenance
Must have knowledge with J Pro Software diagnostic program
Must be authorized to lawfully work in the U.S.
Bilingual (english & spanish) a must
