Resident Engineer

AECOM is seeking an Resident Engineer to join our Construction Management teams in our New Jersey Transportation group. The selected candidate will support railroad bridge transportation projects, working closely with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams. This role offers the opportunity to oversee project delivery, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.Position Responsibilities:Oversee field construction inspectors during the project construction phase, including preparation of daily work schedules, site safety monitoring, technical oversight, and quality assuranceCoordinate and supervise construction management activities and assignments of direct reporting staff to ensure efficient project executionInterface with contractors to coordinate construction activities, resolve constructability issues, and maintain aggressive project schedulesEvaluate and validate contractor change order requests against contract documents, negotiate costs and schedule impacts, and make recommendations to senior managementPerform inspection and resident engineering activities on railway bridge projects, ensuring compliance with construction site safety standards and operational requirementsDevelop and maintain project schedules, manage budgets, and track costs to ensure timely completion and financial accountabilityCoordinate with stakeholders, including government agencies, utility companies, and local communities to ensure smooth project executionImplement quality control processes and ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and environmental and safety standards throughout the project lifecycleConduct regular project status meetings and prepare comprehensive reports for internal and external stakeholders
