The PH Nursing Office Coordinator is responsible for Nursing department timekeeping, maintaining and managing nursing department employee files, and will assist the Scheduling Coordinator daily to ensure staff coverage for all units 24 hours/day, seven days per week.

Responsibilities:

Provides support to the nursing team as directed.

Performs the duty of payroll on a biweekly basis assuring/checking accuracy of staffs' hours daily.

Maintains employee files. Tracks annual competency completion, certifications and licensing of staff pertaining to job functions.

Assists Scheduling Coordinator in the scheduling of nursing staff on a daily basis.

Maintains the efficiency of office equipment, i.e., computer/copier/printers.

Develops and maintains skills through attendance at staff development programs.

Ensuring new nursing employees’ access to building: complete key forms and deliver keys to nurse manager.

Tracks and notifies Nurse Managers of staff expired credentials, not limited to BLS/ACLS, HWC and ensures that all employee files contain the orientation check list.

Assists Scheduling Coordinator to monitor staffing on a 24-hour basis by inputting data and variances in the staffing tool. Confers with the Nurse Managers and Assistant Nurse on a daily basis to remain within budgetary constraints while ensuring staffing is adequate to provide essential patient care.

Assists Scheduling Coordinator to monitor daily sick calls and assumes the responsibility of finding coverage.

Provides coverage for Scheduling Coordinator position in their absence.

Supports customer service and performance improvement goals of the department

collaborates with other caregivers/staff, within and outside PHBH.

Maintains “stay interview” schedule for the first year of nursing employees’ tenure, and reminds NMs of dues dates as needed, and tracks for completion.

Maintains supply of downtime patient chart forms.

Assists nurse educator and NMs with copying needs.

Maintains strict standards of confidentiality.

Possesses the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to meet the physical, psychological and social needs of adult Behavioral Health patients.

Possesses excellent interpersonal skills to effectively handle problems that arise in the workplace.

Attends Nursing Meetings and other meetings as scheduled. Takes minutes and maintains a log for staff to review.

Participates in unit compliance as related to established standards. Other duties and projects as assigned.

Credentials:

Driver's License (Required)

Valid driver’s license.

Education or Equivalent Experience:

H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)

Associate of Arts or Science
