The Trailer Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing trailers used in logistics operations. This includes diagnosing mechanical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring that trailers are in safe and operational condition. You will work closely with the logistics team to minimize downtime, maximize trailer utilization, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Complete PM inspections.
Complete DOT inspections.
Troubleshoot equipment with diagnostic laptop.
Repair and/or replace all components of diesel engines, air conditioning system, suspension system, drive trains, electrical systems, steering systems, and braking systems.
Complete all documentation needed (work orders, parts orders, inspection sheets) in an accurate and timely manner.
Perform all work in accordance with safety procedures and quality standards.
Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly shop.
Requirements:
2+ years’ experience in performing quality class 8 truck repairs including transmissions, air brake, and tire services.
Strong knowledge of diesel engine components and systems, particularly Caterpillar engines.
Ability to read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting purposes.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
