Position Overview
We are currently looking to add a Climber to our team of tree care professionals. Your office is outdoors, and you get a new view every day!
Compensation
$30.00 - $40.00 (based on experience)
Job Duties
What You’ll Do:
Tree climbing and work at heights: Safely ascend trees using ropes, harnesses, and other climbing equipment to access different parts of the tree.
Pruning and trimming: Use hand and power tools to cut away dead, diseased, or excess branches to improve tree health and appearance.
Tree removal: Safely cut down and remove entire trees, often working with a crew to bring down limbs and the trunk.
Safety and site management: Follow all safety regulations, maintain a clean work area, and take precautions to protect property and the public from falling debris.
Equipment operation: Operate chainsaws, chippers, and other equipment according to safety and operating procedures.
Equipment inspection: Inspect and maintain climbing gear and tools to ensure they are in safe, working order.
Supervision and training: May also lead and train junior employees.
Qualifications
What We’re Seeking:
Experience: Proven experience in tree care, including trimming and climbing, is required.
Equipment knowledge: Familiarity with rigging, aerial lift trucks, and other tree care equipment.
Physical fitness: The ability to work at significant heights and handle the physical demands of the job.
Safety consciousness: A strong awareness of safety procedures and a commitment to following them is essential.
Communication skills: Good communication is necessary for coordinating with the team and clients.
Teamwork: Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for working with ground crews.
Certifications: While not mandatory, ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) or a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) are beneficial.
License: Drivers license required.
Additional Information
Part time job - working 20-30 hrs per week.
