Description We are on the lookout for a Collections Specialist to join our team in the waste management and recycling industry, based in Teaneck, New Jersey. This role offers a short-term contract opportunity that involves a range of responsibilities including customer communication, payment processing, and account monitoring. Responsibilities: Conduct professional collection calls to customers with outstanding balances daily. Review and explain invoices and statements to customers. Manage the processing and scheduling of credit card and ACH payments. Register customers in the online portal. Distribute invoices and aging balance reports via email. Monitor customer accounts and take necessary action based on the status of the account. Approve or reject orders and lift credit holds from accounts as necessary. Formulate and schedule payment plans when required. Apply payments, credits, and debit memos to customer accounts. Provide cash forecasting information for the assigned customer base. Requirements Proficiency in B2B collections is required Familiarity with Cash Applications is essential Previous experience in Billing is necessary Strong communication and interpersonal skills are crucial Must have a keen eye for detail and a high level of accuracy Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel Must be able to work independently and as part of a team Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make quick decisions Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks Must have a customer service orientation to deal with various client queries and issues Ability to adapt to changing environments and handle multiple priorities Knowledge of industry laws and regulations is advantageous High school diploma or equivalent is required, a degree in a related field is a plus Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
