A strong applicant for this position would be an experienced early childhood educator seeking to advance their career into a leadership role. Responsibilities:
Oversee Guide Team, classroom volunteers, and Assistant Director to ensure adherence to planned activities, hygiene, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
Attend to children's physical and emotional needs promptly and with compassion, ensuring a nurturing and supportive environment.
Implement and uphold Montessori principles in all activities, fostering an environment that promotes independence, exploration, and individualized learning.
Oversee and guide the implementation of educational curriculum, ensuring that classroom activities align with developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
Oversee the planning and implementation of individual and group age-appropriate activities by Guides to ensure children are actively engaged and supported in their social, cognitive, and emotional development Ensure the overall health and safety of the daycare center by monitoring hygiene, cleanliness standards, and the security of children.
Lead by example, providing support and coaching to Guides to enhance their effectiveness and professional development.
Maintain regular communication with Guides and parents to address concerns, provide updates, and ensure a cohesive approach to child development.
Monitor and enforce compliance with all center policies and state regulations, ensuring that all practices meet required standards.
Oversee the maintenance of accurate records, forms, and files, ensuring proper documentation and organization.
Develop and manage the professional development plans and performance reviews for Guides, supporting their ongoing growth and advancement.
Provide constructive feedback to Guides, encouraging positive reception and integration to foster continuous improvement and development.
Supervise and support Guides in leading and participating in classroom activities that incorporate Christian values, worship, and prayer, ensuring these elements are effectively integrated into the daily curriculum.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall operations and goals of the center.
Required Skills:
Ability to lead others and foster a team environment.
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively manage Guides, communicate with parents, and represent the daycare in the community.
Proficient in using a PC and Tablet. Comprehensive knowledge of early childhood development.
Basic knowledge of fundamental Christian values and practices.
Required Qualifications:
At least 21 years of age
At least 3 years of experience in a classroom setting
Infant/Child First Aid and CPR Certification (can be completed within 1 month of employment)
Certified Childcare Professional (CCP), Child Development Associate (CDA), an equivalent national competency-based credential, or 12 credits in early childhood education and development (can be completed within 6 months of employment)
Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
Preferred Skill: Ability to integrate cultural inclusivity into the curriculum.
Physical Requirements: Ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels, kneel, bend, squat, crawl, see up close and up to a certain distance, see colors, have peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Travel: Ability to travel within 30 miles of the daycare center for work activities, including job fairs and networking events.
