The Santa Fe New Mexican, northern New Mexico's source for news, has an immediate opening for a full-time machinist/Shop Tech. We produce printed products for a number of customers, including the New York Times and the Albuquerque Journal. It’s a busy work environment with opportunities for growth.
We have an array of equipment; from a large KBA printing press to bindery machinery in our facility - most in use every day. This position requires that you have the capability of repairing, replacing, or fabricating parts for the various machines that print and package the printed products as we need them. It's a busy place.
You will need some skills and a willingness to learn and work. We have all of the equipment you'll need for this important job and we'll work with the right person. You should be comfortable with complex machinery, an array of tools and in assessing a problem and finding solutions. Spanish as a second language is a plus.
Our production facility is located on the southside of Santa Fe at 1 New Mexican Plaza. We operate various shifts 7 days a week. Some nights, some weekends. Easy access to 25 and on-site parking.
