OverviewSenior Healthcare Program Specialist – OPCHSM in Albany, NYResponsibilities
This is a supervisory role that will include team lead for specific projects and oversight of healthcare financial analyst staff
This position will be responsible for the evaluation and analyses of NYS Article 28 licensed healthcare facility financial needs, including quantification, implementation and monitoring of provider transformation plans associated with funding received from State operating subsidy programs and capital grant awards
The work will include analysis and monitoring of provider cash flow budgets, financial statements, and other provider applications and requests for financial assistance
Strong excel modeling skills needed and the ability to evaluate and effectively communicate trends in provider financial performance are core responsibilities of this role
All job duties will require active participation in conference calls and meetings with distressed facility leadership and staff, as well as DOH and other State stakeholder groups such as Department of Budget and Grants Management Bureau
This work will support efficient use of Medicaid dollars and identification and implementation of tactics to improve long term financial sustainability with the goal of reducing the level and need for State subsidy
QualificationsBasic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
5 years of professional experience
Must be authorized to work for any US Employer
Employees must follow established work schedules. The usual work schedule is 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. unless otherwise specified by the supervisor, this includes a half hour unpaid lunch break. Total work hours must equal 40 hours per week.
