Hire, train and supervise 10-12 student housing assistants responsible for health & safety inspections, and general housing related tasks
Oversee a centralized health & safety inspection process that includes supervising student staff conducting walkthroughs, documenting violations, managing observation data, corresponding with students via email, and submitting incident reports
Hire, train and supervise Residential Life Central Office student workers
Coordinate and participate in the schedule for Residential Life Central Office coverage ensuring that the office is appropriately staffed at all times
Train staff, including student staff on engagement with parents and families
Provide assistance to students, families and staff via, phone, email and in person
Serve as primary contact for parents and families with housing related issues and needs
Oversee the Residential Life Parent website ensuring information is up to date and accurate
Assist with housing related processes and procedures
Support Residential Life in incident coordination and serve as primary trainer on incident report writing for all Residential Life professional and student staff in conjunction with the Office of Student Conduct
Participate in August and January training programs
Facilitate opening and closing processes
Participate in University's duty rotation as an on-call emergency response assistant; manage situations involving various psychological, emotional, medical, or other safety-related emergencies or incidents (including periodic duty over campus breaks)
Serves on departmental committees as assigned
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree
Experience in Student Affairs
Excellent administrative, communication, leadership and decision-making skills; flexible and adaptable to working in a fast-paced environment
Ability to be self-directed, while comfortable working within a team
Preferred:
Master's degree in College Student Personnel or a related field
Previous experience working in Residential Life
Parent and Family Engagement Expertise
Knowledge of StarRez or Maxient software
