Looking for an accountant to provide support to Bellmore accounting firm. CPA preferred but not required. You will be involved in bookkeeping and tax return preparation for individuals and small businesses in the Long Island area.
Hours 9am - 2pm, days flexible.
Employee must have or be willing to obtain an IRS PTIN.
Responsibilities:
Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
Perform account reconciliations
Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements
Assist in the processing of tax returns
Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
Assist in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
Assist with other accounting projects
Skills
Excellent organizational abilities
Great attention to detail
Good with numbers, figures, and an analytical acumen
Knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software (i.e. QuickBooks and CCH)
