Field Technician
Flash Fire Dynamics is a Long Island-based HVAC controls contractor and IT-managed service provider. We are currently offering a variety of positions to help grow our family. We are looking for experienced technicians with at least two years of experience in the IT or HVAC controls industry, with a strong comprehension of either IT systems and networks, or HVAC control systems.
This is a field technician role. You’ll drive to customer sites to perform work — company truck and gas reimbursement available in lieu of personal vehicle if required. You’ll interact with on-site customer representatives, such as office and facility managers, so strong people skills are a must. We also build control panels in our shop, so some in-office work at our Bohemia location is expected.

Base Expectations (Applicable to Both Controls & IT Tracks)
Ability to handle physical workload
Familiarity with wiring diagrams
Network wiring and terminations/management (Ethernet, structured cabling, etc.)
Service and installation of technical systems on customer sites
Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Customer-facing skills and professionalism
Controls Track (HVAC & Automation Focus)
Service and installation of building automation systems (HVAC, lighting, air quality monitoring, etc.)
DDC and PLC systems (Direct Digital Controls & Programmable Logic Controllers)
Logic programming (for controllers/sequences)
Graphical user interface programming (for control system dashboards)
Network wiring and terminations for building protocols such as BACnet, LON, OPC, etc.
Control panel fabrication and service
IT Track (Information Technology Focus)
On-site and remote PC management and helpdesk support
Entra (Azure) and on-premise domain networks
Virtual machines (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.)
Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and On-premise management
Email security
Mobile device management (MDM)
VoIP phone systems
Computer sales and installation
