Unit DescriptionSodexo is seeking a Warehouse Manager at our commissary kitchen in Long Island City, New York!As the Warehouse and Facilities Manager, your main responsibility is to oversee the smooth and efficient operations of our warehouse and commissary facility. This involves optimizing processes, ensuring safety, and promoting a collaborative work environment to support our logistics and operational goals. Your role includes supervising the accurate and efficient fulfillment of orders in a commissary setting. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead and motivate a team are essential for this position. You will oversee the commissary's overall operations, including maintenance, security, and functionality. This role demands strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Management: Lead and supervise the warehouse fulfillment team; develop and implement strategies for order picking, packing, and shipping; ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment; monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement.
Facility Oversight: Oversee facility maintenance and repairs; implement preventive maintenance programs; manage facility budget and security systems; coordinate with vendors and manage facility improvement projects.
People Management: Train and mentor warehouse staff; conduct performance evaluations and manage schedules and payroll; foster a culture of continuous improvement and engagement.
Administrative Duties: Implement process improvements to boost efficiency and productivity; monitor KPIs and collaborate with cross-functional teams; stay updated on industry trends and warehouse management technologies.
Looking for Candidates Who Have
Experience: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience; 3+ years of management experience in a similar role within a food service company; strong knowledge of warehouse operations, including order fulfillment, inventory management, and logistics.
Skills: Proven leadership and team development abilities; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Additional Attributes: Track record of driving operational efficiency and achieving KPI targets; knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a commissary environment; strong organizational and time management skills.
