Processes payments, issues patient receipts, and maintains collection log.Job ResponsibilityInterviews patients to obtain necessary financial and insurance information.Verifies patients insurance and collects additional insurance such as No Fault and Workers Compensation.Performs financial assessment of patients; refers potential Medicaid cases to Medicaid Investigator.Assists patients and/or families in resolving hospital bills; advises and counsels patients of their payment responsibility due to the hospital.Establishes patients' pro-rated financial obligations and sets-up payment arrangements/contracts.Follows up on scheduled payments via mail and telephone.Maintains daily work log of payments collected.Performs related duties as required. Clearing TES edits to ensure clean claims release for billing in Athena IDX
Responding to Athena IDX AR Worklist inquiries from other departments to resolve denials
Posting charges for missing charges, IR, manual postings and stand alone visits in Soarian
Responding to Patient's complaints and researching their concerns
Reviewing documentation and medical records in RIS Syngo & Carestream PACS
Ability to contact Payers and navigate payer portals
Utilizing and populating Excel spreadsheets
Working on projects and assignments from management
Teamwork, multi-tasking, prioritizing and ability to work independently a must
Radiology, A/R, Billing and EPIC experience preferred
