job detailsA longstanding family owned energy and oil distribution company located in Mount Kisco, NY is looking to hire a motivated Staff Accountant professional to their accounting team! This is a permanent opportunity offering full benefits, Medical, Dental, 401(k), Flexible Spending, Paid Time Off. It is an excellent opportunity to contribute and be part of a team while you support the accounting department. This position is working in their office, Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate must have Excel and QuickBooks experience. You will be responsible for performing cash management, journal entries and bank reconciliations. Bank reconciliation, posting cash entries
Assist with Month End Close/ Journal entry posting Payroll, depreciation, prepaid expense entries, union dues
Maintain vendor relationships and resolve discrepancies
Sales & Use Taxes
Qualifications:Proficiency in QuickBooks Pro, Excel and Word required. Knowledge of Great Plains is a plus.
Time management and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize and multitask
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to take on responsibility
Positive, proactive, and professional attitude
The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
