Daycare in Queens Looking for Full-Time Assistant

New York, New york city 00000 New york city USA
Apply Now

A busy daycare in Queens is looking to fill its open position for an Assistant.

We are a small, family daycare providing care for families in the Queens/NYC area since 1992. We are a very family-oriented team of staff members whose primary objective is to provide excellent care for the children who attend our daycare. Some of the perks of working here include:

-Easy commute near the BQE and LIE. We are located on a residential street with free parking.

-Free homemade lunch, 5 days a week.

-One hour paid lunch break (You may not leave the facility during your break due to NY regulations and guidelines)

-Weekends off

Your role at the daycare will include:

- Playing with and reading to the children

- Following daycare curriculum via classwork, arts and crafts, gym, and exercise.

- Diaper changing and potty training

- Providing care for infants and toddlers including feeding, bottle feeding, putting them to sleep, changing clothes, and keeping clean.

- Cleaning toys, facility, equipment, and vacuuming play area/hallway/kitchen area.

- Knowing how to follow directions from the program director.

If you are not comfortable doing the listed tasks and/or you do not have experience working with children, please do not apply. This is not an easy, entry-level position and requires close, constant attention to kids. Knowing how to deal with children is paramount as they all have their own approach. This only comes with experience.

NYC Dept. of Health and Mental Hygiene requires a screening and application process to become an Assistant Provider and/or Substitute Provider. To become an Assistant Provider, the following process needs to take place:

- Background check

- Fingerprinting

- Be a NY registered worker with a Social Security number.

If any of these requirements are not met, you will not be approved by the DoH.

All documentation will be provided by us. You must fill out this documentation in a timely manner and attend background and fingerprinting appointments.

Qualifications:

- Experience working with newborn, infant, toddler, and preschool/school-aged children are a must. Please include your experience in your resume with verifiable contacts of previous work.

- Fluency in English

- High school graduate at a minimum
