The Principal at NYCMC Wellspring Schools is a dynamic and inspiring leader who serves as the Head of the School. This individual is dedicated to maintaining the school's high standards of creativity and academic excellence. With a robust background in differentiated instruction and understanding of multiple intelligences, the Director is adept at learning and applying the Wellspring Model, ensuring it permeates all aspects of the school's curriculum, teaching methods, and classroom management.

Key Responsibilities:

Assessment:

Evaluate the creativity of lesson plans and teaching methods.

Observe and assess both teacher performance and student progress, ensuring alignment with the school's benchmarks.

Review student reports and monitor policy implementation regarding discipline and academic performance.

Conduct data-driven assessments to inform educational strategies.

Development:

Champion the development of a unified vision for the school, collaborating with students, staff, and the community.

Lead in curriculum selection and implementation, aligning with the Wellspring Model.

Provide professional development and training to staff, focusing on creativity, teaching strategies, and student engagement.

Engage with parents and the community to promote understanding and support for the Wellspring educational approach.

Enrichment:

Stay abreast of educational research to enhance the Wellspring Model's effectiveness.

Support teachers with resources and innovative ideas to enrich student learning.

Develop and maintain a Creative Manual, offering a repository of creative teaching methods and activities.

Communication:

Maintain transparent and frequent communication regarding classroom progress and challenges.

Liaise with parents, community members, and educational bodies to promote school initiatives.

Collaborate with other directors and administrative staff to uphold the school's mission and objectives.

Management:

Oversee the school's administrative functions and ensure a conducive learning environment.

Enforce school policies, coordinate school events, and manage daily operations.

Supervise the school's academic calendar, scheduling, and event planning.

Supervisory Relationships:

Directly oversees the school's administrative staff, teachers, and security.

Reports to the CEO and COO of NYCMC.

Collaborates with the Resource Director, Financial Controller and fellow directors at NYCMC.

Knowledge and Experience:

Advanced degree in Educational Leadership or related field.

Understanding of Islamic beliefs and culture, and the ability to navigate a diverse student and parent body.

Proficiency in standard software applications and a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role within an educational setting.

Skills and Abilities:

Strong commitment to educational equity and belief in the potential of all students.

Proven leadership skills with a track record of strategic planning and team building.

Expertise in curriculum development, teaching strategies, and training design.

Analytical skills with a data-informed approach to decision-making.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills.
