Through professional training, performance opportunities and college placement assistance, NPF enhances a student's cultural and academic experience, infusing them with a positive sense of who they are and a boundless sense of what they can become.
The Noel Pointer Foundation is seeking a skilled Violin Teaching Artist to work at various sites throughout Brooklyn & Staten Island!
- Experience teaching beginner to advanced level string instrument and music theory students in a private and group lesson setting
- Write and implement lesson plans
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Knowledgeable of classical and contemporary repertoire from beginner to advanced levels
- Prepare students for concerts, recitals, community performances & auditions
- Attend TA orientation sessions and regularly scheduled staff meetings
- Adjudicate disciplinary and other problems
- Great communication skills with colleagues, parents, and students
Requirements
2+ years of prior experience teaching in a public school setting or after school program
Experience teaching music in a group setting, K-12
Teachers working in school are subject to PETS Department of Education fingerprint screening
Possess a passion for teaching children
Must be creative and have the ability to think outside the box
Must have a positive 'can-do' attitude; willing to go above and beyond
Must attend all concerts and commit to scheduled lesson times with little to no substitutions
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $40.00 to $50.00 /hour
