Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Manager for Plant Operations Control Systems at our new state-of-the-art cancer treatment center in Main Campus. This facility offers the highest standards of comprehensive cancer care delivered by MSK oncologists, in an environment crafted to meet the outstanding needs of cancer patients and their families. Role overview:

Manage, guide and advise the functions and activities of employees in the Controls group of Plant Operations. Lead departmental human resources, development, time management, attendance, and discipline.

Provide leadership to foster a cooperative working environment. Maintain the ability to creatively guide, empower, and encourage staff members while successfully advising efficient operations.

Participate in hiring process. Responsible for training, orienting, disciplining, providing ongoing feedback and appraising performance.

Run the maintenance, repair, operation and alteration of MSK’s Building Automation Systems (BAS); including but not limited to the computerized HVAC controls, electric-pneumatic controls, electronic controls, valve and damper operators, liquid valve controllers, and other automated control components used on medical and research center infrastructure systems.

Develop routine and non-routine work procedures to ensure workflow is controlled, prioritized, and meets the maintenance and operating requirements of the systems and related components.

Review contractor installations and workmanship to ensure compliance with contracted documents and MSK standards.

Provide expertise, insight and ongoing feedback as part of the Design Team for all new construction projects as it relates to building automation systems and equipment and related components.

Conduct regular and detailed inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance to MSK standards.

Key qualifications:

15 years progressive experience in the building automation or heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) field with a minimum of five (5) years in healthcare environments with staff of 15 or more.

20 post secondary credits

20 Years directly applicable experience of a staff of 20 individuals or more within a healthcare environment preferred

Core Skills:

Global thinking, technical knowledge and experience to operate, resolve operational deficiencies and initiate corrective actions to building automation and controls systems.

Sufficient knowledge to handle assignments of routine and non-routine difficulty with minimal direction.

Oral communication skills to present technical information.

Schedule:

Full-Time Monday - Friday; 8a to 4p. 24/7 hour availability on call.
