We are seeking a passionate individual to join our team at a renowned, fine dining Midtown establishment and work closely with our chef/owner and the rest of the executive team in a fine dining and dynamic restaurant. This role requires not only overseeing restaurant operations, but also a sizeable events program.
It is essential that this candidate has excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and organization, excels in leading and mentoring a healthy and productive team. Good attitude, problem solving skills and ability to manage a kitchen team of over 55+ employees is a must. This position will include administrative duties such as overseeing scheduling, monitoring payroll, overseeing purchasing, production management and internal communications. This position will oversee multiple sous chefs and work together with the Executive Pastry chef of the restaurant.
The ideal Culinary Candidate will also possess the following:
Previous experience in NY Times 2,3 or 4 star fine dining restaurants and/or Michelin guide 1, 2 or 3 star restaurants. Has a great work ethic and thoughtful approach to managing, implementing and execution. Proven ability to be a senior leader and also a team player who can work in collaboration with others.
Proven ability to expedite busy dinner and/or lunch services.
Ability to coordinate tasks and complete projects in a timely manner, and ensure the same for the rest of kitchen team.
Must possess a sense of urgency and be willing to assist others in reaching their goals.
Work flexibility and a positive attitude.
