We are currently looking to hire a responsible and outgoing food runner, with preference to those with flexible availability on Wednesday thorough Sunday evenings. Food runners deliver food to customers in a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable manner. Food runners play a crucial role in our restaurant by serving as a point of contact between the kitchen and the servers. Runners are expected to be attentive to guests needs, and accommodatingto create a welcoming and friendly environment for all patrons. The right person for this position will be willing to genuinely try to create an excellent experience for our guests, and will contribute to the overall atmosphere by providing a friendly disposition and knowledgeable understanding of the menu and the goals of Farm to People. Shifts will include dinner, weekends, and some holidays.
Responsibilities include:
- Play a crucial role in ensuring the pleasurable dining experience of all guests by quickly, and carefully delivering food to guests with a friendly disposition.
- Communicate information between kitchen and servers.
- Be attentive and responsive to the needs and requests of guests.
- Stay updated on current menu offerings.
- Assist in both opening and closing the restaurant with teammates, adhering to outlined guidelines for opening and closing requirements.
- Promptly deliver each course to the proper table and keep in order.
- Reset place settings as needed.
- Clear tables as needed.
- Contribute to team effort by assisting other staff as time allows.
- Assist with special events as needed.
- Answer guest questions about food/how to eat it.
This position hires at a rate of $10.65/hr with a share of nightly tip pool. The training rate for this position is $20/hr.
