Job description
Prestigious Suffolk County mid-size law firm seeks a talented and self-motivated Litigation Attorney with 1+ years of experience in handling discovery, conducting depositions, and arguing motions. The ideal candidate must possess excellent research, writing, and communication skills and has the ability to take initiative, work independently, and drive their own success. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex legal cases, conducting legal research, and communicating with clients and colleagues.
Responsibilities:
Handling discovery
Conducting depositions
Drafting and arguing motions
Conducting legal research
Drafting legal documents
Representing clients in court
Communicating with clients and colleagues
Developing case strategies and legal arguments
Representing clients in alternative dispute resolution processes, such as mediation, settlement conferences and arbitration
Drafting and responding to written discovery requests, such as interrogatories and requests for production of documents
Negotiating settlements with opposing counsel
Conducting pre-trial preparation, including preparing witnesses, exhibits, and evidence for trial
Appearing in court for conferences, hearings, motions, and trial
Analyzing legal issues and providing legal advice to clients
Reviewing and analyzing legal documents, such as contracts, agreements, and policies
Qualifications:
JD from an accredited law school
Admitted to practice law in New York
Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
