Brooklyn studio seeks experienced bridal and evening wear fitters, dressmakers or ladies tailors with evening wear experience who wants a more creative job that just sewing alterations
We do much more than the average tailoring service! We offer a variety of services including customizing dresses by adding sleeves, drapes, beading, overskirts, etc. We specialize in up-cycling, restyling, resizing and customizing new, vintage and antique wedding dresses
We also design and manufacture a line of bridal cover ups, veils, belts and accessories
Our team is a combination of experienced bridal pros and fashion or costume designers and makers who restyle bridal outfits and build our accessories to support their own passion.
You can work in our studio or your own space. We can drop off work in central and south Brooklyn
Job Qualifications
Experience constructing or altering wedding gowns and evening wear or theatrical costumes
Skilled at working with corseted gowns and doing horsehair and baby rolled hems
Basic pattern making and cutting skills
Goos hand finishing skills, beading and lace work a plus
Draping experience a plus
Experience fitting wedding gowns and/or evening wear on humans a plus but we can train
Ability to hand out work to interns and hand stitchers

We are casual but very fast paced and sometimes high pressured We try to make every fitting a party so the Brides have the best possible experience.

$20 - $25 hourly based on experience
