Automotive Technician 12volt specialist + Assembly and Disassembly
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Vehicle Electronics Technician is responsible installing premium mobile audio systems and diagnostic and repairing automotive electrical wiring and electrical components, including audio and video components, dash, odometer, windows, doors, etc. The ideal candidate will be familiar with 12V electronics and automotive assembly and disassembly and is excellent at problem solving.
Responsibilities
Installation and Repairs of car audio systems, amps, speakers, car alarms, remotes starts and LED lighting options, backup cameras, dash cameras, and radar detection systems. Technician must be able to assemble and disassemble automotive interiors and exterior: panels, trims, dash, consoles, seats, bumpers, doors, trims, hood, trunk.
Fully understand wiring diagrams
Knowledge to integrate systems into newer vehicles
Possess troubleshooting experience
Must have knowledge of part lookups for installation
Qualifications
Highly knowledgeable in fundamental electronic components such as relays, diodes, etc., as well as DC electrical system architecture.
Knowledgeable in OEM-style wiring, connectors etc.
Circuit board level knowledge for repair or modifications is a plus, but not required.
Fabrication knowledge
Comfortable with working on high-end vehicles
Knowledge of Car audio installation and wiring
Enjoys working in a team environment and collaborating on best practices for outstanding customer satisfaction
High school diploma or GED
3+ years experience in vehicle installation, preferred
Knowledge of relays and wiring and schematics (MECP certification preferred)
Ability to communicate instructions and troubleshoot and resolve customer issues through phone, electronically, and in person
Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and meet strict deadlines
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written means
