Brooklyn cabinet shop is offering a position for a shop helper with minimal experience in construction, carpentry, art handling or the trades.
We are looking for a dependable, personable individual with can-do attitude and ability to work as part of a team to perform basic shop helper tasks such as sanding, packing, cleaning, equipment maintenance (with training) and receiving deliveries for a shop of five employees. Assisting cabinetmakers with assembly and fabrication of projects per experience level.
Required skills:
-Punctuality
-Ability to understand and follow direction
-Ability to anticipate, self-motivate and find things to do when necessary
-Communicative; willingness to ask questions and share ideas
-Attention to detail and willingness to learn
-Professional, respectful and mature demeanor
Not Required but Highly Desired:
-Mechanical ability
Starting wage $20-22 an hour depending on experience with an initial three-month trial period. Work hours vary with production schedule, but official hours are 8am to 4pm Monday through Friday.
