Woodworker / Carpenter
We are a small, but growing wood working company located in NY. We source local trees, do our own milling and craft unique, custom-made pieces. Currently we are looking to fill a position for a skilled, experienced wood worker/carpenter. Someone who is self-motivated, works well alone and with others, and is looking to be part of a team of artists that create one-of-a-kind products. Hours must be flexible, as longer hours will be required on occasion in order to meet deadlines. Outdoor work will be required from time to time. We have a small indoor shop in Yonkers, and an outdoor yard in Westchester.
Key Responsibilities
Understand the different types of hardwoods and their characteristics
Joinery and mill work, using both wood working machines and hand tools
Application of spray finishes, stains, oils and epoxies
Onsite installation of finished wood products
Collaborate with others in a fast paced environment
Balance multiple projects at once
Qualifications:
Minimum 2+ years in wood working
Spanish-speaking a plus, but not required
Ability to handle multiple taskssimultaneously and create efficiencies in production
Detail-oriented and focused on meeting deadlines
Exhibit enthusiasm, passion, creativity and commitment
Drug testing required
Skills test will be a part of the interview process
