Well established service and maintenance plumbing company located near the base of the Outerbridge in Staten Island, NY is seeking full-time experienced plumbing mechanics and helpers to service residential and commercial accounts, as well as work with city agencies. Must have all certifications necessary to work with city agencies such as NYCHA, DOE, MTA, OCME, etc.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Install, repair, and maintain gas, water and waste pipes, valves, fittings and fixtures in commercial and residential buildings
- Install and repair sump pumps, water heaters, boilers, etc.
- Measure, cut, thread and assemble new pipe, placing the assembled pipe in hangers or other supports
- Respond to, diagnose and resolve plumbing emergencies
- Complete work properly and in a timely manner
- Keep accurate records of time spent working, description of work performed, and materials used
Requirements/Qualifications:
- 7 years experience for Plumbing Mechanic
- 3 years experience for Plumbing Helper
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools used in the plumbing trade
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations and safety practices
- Must have clean valid drivers license, OSHA 30, OSHA 10/SST Site Safety Training, F-60 and G-60; Gas Operator Qualification is a must; Journeyman Card is a must, DOB Gas Qualification (full or limited) is a must (for prevailing wage/city agency work)
- Must be able to work alternating on-call (nights and weekends)
- Salary / prevailing wage rate is based on trade, classification, certifications and experience
