Description We are in search of a Controller to join our team in ONEIDA, New York. This role involves overseeing all financial functions at the plant level, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control. A key part of the role is driving efficiency improvements and cost reductions to support the business objectives. Chris Preble from Robert Half is working with a client of his in Oneida, NY to find a Plant Controller. This new role for the rapidly growing organization is responsible for financial and accounting functions of the plant, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and reporting. This leadership role ensures financial accuracy and integrity while driving cost efficiency and financial performance at the plant. The Plant Controller works closely with executive leadership to support strategic decision-making, improve financial processes, and provide insights into the plant's financial health.Key Responsibilities:Financial Reporting:

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Analyze variances between actual results and forecasts or budgets, providing insight and recommendations for improvement.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Help lead the preparation of the plant’s annual budget and periodic forecasts.

Work with plant management to set financial targets and track progress against goals.

Cost Accounting and Control:

Implement and maintain effective cost accounting systems to monitor production costs, variances, and inventory valuation.

Identify and drive cost-saving initiatives, improving the plant’s overall financial performance.

Inventory Management:

Oversee inventory accuracy, including cycle counts and physical inventory audits.

Ensure proper costing methods (e.g., standard costing) and valuation of inventory.

Internal Controls:

Ensure the plant is compliant with corporate policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard plant assets and ensure integrity of financial data.

Financial Analysis:

Provide detailed analysis of key metrics, such as material usage, labor efficiency, overhead absorption, and scrap rates.

Support plant management in identifying opportunities for operational improvements and cost efficiencies.

Capital Expenditures (CapEx):

Review and track capital expenditure projects to ensure alignment with budget and financial objectives.

Analyze and provide financial justification for new capital projects or investments.

Collaboration and Support:

Partner with the plant manager and operations team to provide financial insights and support as well as support and management to accounting team reporting into this role

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
