Must have a broad view of the program objectives and organizational culture and processes, including a solid understanding of stakeholders, their needs and expectations, and acceptance of program objectives. Requires strategic visioning and planning skills to align program goals with the long-term goals of the organization. Responsible for leading the program team in establishing program direction, identifying interdependencies, communicating program requirements, tracking progress, making decisions, and resolving conflicts and issues. May have overall program responsibility or provide support for a set of interrelated projects of very large size and/or high complexity, under the direction of senior level leadership and/or institutional committees. Works closely with project sponsor, cross-functional teams, and assigned project managers to plan and develop scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget and timing for new initiatives. Actively engages with team members and technological subject matter experts in determining high level solutioning and direction-setting. Communicates complex technical information in clear and unambiguous terms to management and end users. Manages program and project teams for optimal return-on-investment by managing cross-project initiatives, program performance, process improvements, staffing and performance management, and balances workload to achieve objectives and strategies. Identifies key requirements needed from cross-functional teams and external vendors. Develop and manage budget for projects and accountable for delivering against established business goals/objectives. Work with other program managers and project managers to identify risks and opportunities across multiple projects within the department. Analyze, evaluate, and overcome program risks, and product program reports for management and stakeholders. Supports strategic program planning, developing program metrics and execution of multi-year initiatives that may involve multiple interrelationships and complexities, requiring the development and execution of complex program and communication plans to achieve. Independently leads problem-solving and decision-making activities, within the program scope and change management process assessing risks and actions to accomplish program objectives. Ensures high quality and minimum program costs by implementing & maintaining a quality management program across all responsible programs. Serves as an internal subject matter expert regarding departmental and institutional program and project management practices, methods, and standards. Models the behaviors and mentors more junior colleagues in the concepts and application of project and program management within the department.Two positions are available:For one position, the ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing digital health tools and working with AI products. They should possess a high-level understanding of the needs of AI teams and be well-versed in the AI lifecycle, from development and deployment to maintenance and improvement. Additionally, an interest and background in AI regulation and standards is preferred, as this role requires staying current with evolving guidelines to ensure our projects comply with industry best practices. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the Translational Expert (TREx) project at the Mayo Clinic, where your expertise will directly impact the integration and advancement of AI in translational processes.The second position will help provide tailored consultative services and embedded product support to innovators across the Mayo Clinic Enterprise for the purpose of assisting them with alignment to applicable regulations, standards, and best practices. The role will be unifying and optimizing the processes and practices within translation and regulatory science (eg 21 CFR 820 and ISO standards). This individual should have: High-level technical awareness of the key steps to build safe, effective, and ethical AI tools; Experience managing AI-enabled digital health tools from ideation to application; Skills and techniques for identifying, triaging, and addressing silos across teams; and Comfortability navigating a large healthcare organization to flag gaps and/or redundancies in processes and services to enable AI deployment.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in management, business administration, health care administration or related field with a minimum of 13 years' experience managing projects and programs involving multiple technological environments which range in complexity and demonstrates increased depth of responsibilities OR Master’s degree in management, business administration, healthcare administration or related fields with a minimum of 10 years management or related experience required. Must demonstrate a mastery in the application of PMI Process Groups and Knowledge Areas. Possession of an active Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification, or a comparable current certification from a nationally recognized project management governance body with a specialized emphasis in program management. This certification must be obtained within three (3) years of date of hire.Additional Experience and/or Qualifications: (Has Achieved Competency in the Following Areas, Job Knowledge and Additional Considerations):Must have strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated effectiveness in management and group dynamics, including team problem solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills. Experience in Program/Project management and working knowledge of agile methodologies.
