Description We are seeking a Medical Admin to join our team in the healthcare industry in SYRACUSE, New York. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity and is fundamental to the operational aspects of patient referral and authorization process. The Medical Admin will work closely with the clinical team and be a key point of contact for patients.Responsibilities: Act as a primary point of contact for patients, answering queries, triaging calls, and escalating as appropriate Be responsible for the accurate review and data entry of authorization into the computerized database Assist in the coordination of patient services as directed by the team, and make recommendations for process improvement Actively participate in quality improvement activities Support Care Managers by assisting with the scheduling and tracking of Member contacts, visits & UAS Oversee various reports within the EHR as directed Take on clerical duties such as filing, typing, copying, faxing, and taking messages as directed by the supervisor Ensure confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information Regularly communicate and collaborate with team members to support Members’ needs. Requirements Demonstrated experience in scheduling, including managing appointments and organizing calendars Strong customer service skills, with a focus on providing responsive and empathetic assistance to patients Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites, specifically in Word, Excel, and Outlook for daily tasks Experience in data entry, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency Knowledge of healthcare industry protocols and hospital operations is preferred Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail High school diploma or equivalent education level required Prior experience in a healthcare or hospital setting is advantageous.
