DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THIS POSITION:We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Demand Planner to join our team. This role will use data analysis to determine procurement quantities of industrial cable and control components for multiple warehouse locations in the United States. As the Demand Planner you will be primarily responsible for the ongoing procurement and scheduling negotiations which meet the quality standards of the company, develop, and rely on experience and judgement of team members (Purchasing Expeditor, Product Management and Engineering) to plan and accomplish goals and create workflow documentation.The position reports directly to the Chief Administrative Officer.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Review all open vendor orders for revision or cancellation and creating a standard process/workflow for two warehouse locationsReview buyer/planner codes with Product Management for necessary revisionsMonitor supplier performance in terms of cost and deliveryWork with Product Management on alternative plans in the event of unforeseen contingenciesWork with warehouse, finance, and suppliers to reconcile discrepancies in receiving and invoicingResponsible for oversight and development of forecasting and replenishment plansApply analytical and statistical techniques to develop a tactical demand forecast and replenishment plan supporting key productsDetermine optimal inventory position for each SKU/ stocking locationAnalyze data and make recommendations on increasing/decreasing inventory targets; establish ideal safety stock targetsParticipate in inventory planning activities including, but not limited to, ownership and maintenance of supply planning models and/or ERP planning systemTrack and control excess and obsolete Inventory levels by collaborating with Product ManagementPrepare purchasing and inventory forecasts and financial projectionsAnalyze variances between actual and budgeted/forecasted activityPartner with Marketing and Product Management to forecast and coordinate obsolete/legacy products and new product launches, and ensuring new product launches are properly input into planning modelsAnalyze the predicted impact of new supplier/product launches, product promotions, or discontinuationsProactively adjust forecast and replenishment strategies to optimize inventory investmentEstablish, maintain, report and analyze trends for Key Performance Indicators for forecast accuracy, demand variability, inventory, and backorderDevelop an understanding of product family life cycles and perform trending analysis to determine proper inventory levelsDrive process standardizationMonitor inventory data integrity (e.g., receiving/inspection, cycle count accuracy)Perform other duties as assignedREQUIRED SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or related field5+ years of experience in purchasing, buying, and/or planning preferredRequires math and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and negotiation, internal and external vendors/suppliersStrong knowledge of purchasing principles and proceduresExcellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with lead times which change based on raw materials or component delivery delaysAbility to work independently and collaboratively with team membersBeacon Hill is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values the strength diversity brings to the workplace.
