The Position

Originates and develops analysis methods for determining and improving reliability of components, equipment and processes.

Relationships

Reports to Instrumentation & Controls Eng. Manager.

Essential Functions

Develop optimized reliability management strategies for equipment, processes, and facility

Drive shift from reactive to preventive and condition-based maintenance

Work with planners to establish and optimize PM process including use of information systems for scheduling and reporting

Coach and mentor Engineers, Planners, and Technicians on reliability practices and component failure mechanisms

Proactively identify cost savings and downtime reduction opportunities

Support technical development of Maintenance Techs in the areas of failure mechanisms and failure detection and preventive techniques including PdM

Develops reliability strategies based upon FMEA

Employ advanced cLEAN® and reliability engineering tools with a focus on increasing process reliability and availability

Determines the use of predictive maintenance technologies

Conducts root cause failure analysis (RCFA) to identify and eliminate failure modes

Support implementation of one DFP better practices and participate in sharing knowledge across all sites for improvement projects

Maintain and establish maintenance standards

Physical Requirements

Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands. Strap & unstrap pallets using hands. Must be able to be on your feet for up to a 12-hour shift. May require corrected vision to 20/20 or 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. May be required to work at elevated heights. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials. May be required to wear latex gloves. May perform critical job functions in extremely cold work environments depending on site. May position oneself within confined spaces for inspection if required of the role. Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection. May be required to secure a motorized vehicle license & operate a motorized vehicle based on the role.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering/related field or Equivalent (experience + education) preferred

5 to 10 years engineering experience in reliability engineering to include PM optimization, RCM, predictive maintenance, root cause analysis preferred

Knowledgeable in the following systems: Instrument and Electrical, Mechanical, Process Improvement Methodologies, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) a plus

Proven expertise in planning/organizing/executing of maintenance activities, following up on results, and revising the work plan for complex problems being resolved by cross functional teams preferred
