Description We are seeking a meticulous and customer-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in Durham, North Carolina, in the Wholesale Distribution industry. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity and will involve processing, reviewing, and reconciling daily payments received, along with other general office administration tasks. Responsibilities: Processing, reviewing, and reconciling daily payments received by the business Posting all customer charge account checks, EDIs, and EFTs as well as miscellaneous office checks Following up on missing, short paid, and overpaid checks Reviewing, entering, and/or uploading invoices to various chain customer portals as required Resolving and verifying the validity of account discrepancies by investigating information from sales, promotions, customers, and vendor portals Reviewing the aging report, sending out monthly/weekly statements, and making collection calls as needed Managing escrow accounts to ensure that there are sufficient funds for purchases Reviewing daily bank transactions and following up on NSF checks Posting all A/R activity in the operations software subledger as well as in the general ledger financial system daily Responding to phone calls and emails as needed Handling inbound customer support calls/emails/texts, usually pertaining to product, delivery, or line cleaning issues Keying in weekly orders for several chain accounts. Requirements Proficiency in Account Reconciliation Experience in Accounts Receivable (AR) Familiarity with Billing procedures Knowledge of Cash Applications Experience in Cash Collections Understanding of Commercial Collections Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Excellent Customer Service skills Prior experience in a Wholesale Distribution industry Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong communication and interpersonal skills Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines High level of integrity and trustworthiness Knowledge of standard office equipment and procedures.
