Systems Analyst

Durham, NC / Smithfield, RI / Merrimack, NH (Hybrid Model - 3 days onsite per month)

Candidate Profile:
  • Ability to understand OOO concepts and ability to read Java. Wants them to be able to look deep into the code and explain beyond the textbook definition of programming concepts.
  • 5+ years of experience, with a focus in financial services applications (would be a major plus)
  • Collaboration skills and working with other roles
  • A full understanding of the Agile software development methodology
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, allowing you to interview business partners to understand initiative objectives, use cases and requirements

Skills you will bring:
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • 5+ years of experience, with a focus in financial services applications
  • Robust critical thinking and problem-solving skills coupled with a growth mentality and a desire to collaborate effectively with key product and technology partners across different business units
  • Ability to apply a long-term mentality to help produce scalable and maintainable technology solutions
  • Excellent analytical, communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
  • Passion to provide guidance on standard methodologies and mentoring support to the other technologists within the wider Digital Platforms Technology team
  • Experience working within an Agile software development framework
  • Experience collaborating in a team environment to analyze, develop, deploy, and support key applications and features
  • A demonstrable understanding of the Agile software development methodology
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, allowing you to interview business partners to understand initiative objectives, use cases and requirements
  • Strong analytical skills, enabling you to research, document and review existing systems and recommend designs for achieving business requirements
  • Proficiency in assisting in the writing, understanding, and sizing of user stories
  • Ability to diagram business processes and system workflows
  • Willingness to actively participate in defining project scope/backlog, while recommending solutions to business and technology issues
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt and thrive to meet the needs of a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Ability to provide strong support to Quality Engineering and Product partners throughout all testing phases, including participating in triaging system defects in production and non-production environments
  • Familiarity with the following areas is a plus:
  • Ability to perform technical analysis of sophisticated Web application development concepts (Spring MVC, Spring Core, XML, CSS, etc.)
  • Experience with database query tools / Strong SQL skills
  • Experience with Java and Confluence
  • Working understanding of QA automation
  • Experience with content management systems including SDL Tridion
