Structured Cable Technician (Commercial Construction)

We are seeking a skilled Data Technician with experience in commercial environments to install and maintain data cabling systems. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of running, terminating, and punching down Cat 5/6 cables, building out network closets and racks, and installing wireless access points, including hanging j-hooks.Key Responsibilities:

Cable Installation: Install and pull Cat 5 and Cat 6 cables in commercial settings.

Terminations and Punchdowns: Perform terminations and punch-downs for data cabling systems.

Network Closets and Racks: Build out network closets and racks.

Wireless Access Points: Install wireless access points and hang j-hooks.

Cable Management: Put on jacks, hang J hooks, and lay cable trays.

Team Collaboration: Work effectively in a team and independently, taking direction without conflict.

Continuous Improvement: Always move to the next task without needing to be told what to do.

Qualifications:

Experience: At least 6+ months of cabling experience on commercial projects (Cat 5, Cat 6).

Technical Skills: Experience with terminations, punch-downs, and putting on jacks.

Physical Skills: Ability to hang J hooks and lay cable trays.

Preferred Experience:

Commercial Projects: Experience working on commercial projects.

Fiber Optic Cable: Knowledge of fiber optic cable installation.

Work Environment:

Commercial Settings: Installations are performed in commercial environments.

Team Dynamics: Ability to work in a team and take direction independently.

Physical Requirements: Ability to handle physical tasks associated with cabling installations.
