Speed and Plyometrics Coach Needed

North Carolina, Raleigh / durham / CH, 27601 Raleigh / durham / CH USA
Apply Now

We’re looking for an experienced Speed and Plyometrics Coach to work with high school athletes who want to improve their explosive power, sprint speed, agility, and vertical jump performance. This is not sport-specific conditioning; it’s about developing pure athletic movement and helping young athletes become faster, stronger, and more resilient across sports.

You’ll train motivated students who play soccer, lacrosse, ultimate frisbee, football, and other explosive, multidirectional sports. Sessions focus on mechanics, explosiveness, and movement efficiency rather than sport drills.

What You’ll Do:

Design and lead speed and plyometric sessions tailored to high school athletes.

Teach and refine biomechanics of sprinting and acceleration (start technique, stride efficiency, posture, etc.).

Incorporate agility, deceleration, and change-of-direction training.

Integrate injury-prevention protocols: mobility, landing mechanics, stability, and prehab work.

Track and encourage athlete progress in sprint times, vertical jump, and power metrics.

Foster a positive, disciplined training environment emphasizing effort, consistency, and smart recovery.

Qualifications:

Background in exercise science, kinesiology, strength & conditioning, or related field, or high-level athletic background

Experience coaching or training high school or collegiate athletes in speed or power development preferred

Strong understanding of biomechanics and movement analysis.

Knowledge of injury prevention and athletic development principles.

Excellent communication skills with youth athletes.

About You:

You’re passionate about helping athletes unlock their potential through scientifically sound, explosive training methods. You know how to break down movement mechanics, motivate athletes, and make sessions engaging and safe.

Schedule & Pay

Flexible scheduling; after-school and weekend availability preferred.

Hourly or session-based pay commensurate with experience. Minimum of $40/hour. Maximum $60/hour.

Opportunities for growth and additional private or small-group sessions.
