Job Summary NDSU Extension Service provides Morton County collaborative support to deliver educational programs in four key areas: Agriculture & Natural Resources, Family, and Consumer Sciences, Community Vitality and 4-H Youth Development. Within this position, the successful candidate willperforma wide range of administrative office support activities for the department to facilitate effective servicing of extension programs. Responsibilities and Duties
This position is often the first impression and individual, business partner or stakeholder has of the Morton County Extension Office. This position will screen, direct and/or assist individuals seeking support for extension services.
This position is the primary team member responsible for incoming / outgoing mail correspondence, records retention, inventory control, and document preservation.
This position will be responsible for gathering information to create reports as well as reviewing data for accuracy and thoroughness.
This position has a great responsibility in assisting volunteers by reviewing the quality and thoroughness of the product of work produced by our volunteer population.
This position will be responsible for coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on shared office equipment within the Extension Office.
This position will be tasked with compiling and arranging information for newsletters and all associated websites requiring attention.
This position has fiduciary responsibilities associated with receiving and securing associated funds.
This position will have the opportunity to work with youth and youth families as it will m aintain and manage 4-H Online; assist in coordination and preparation and follow-through of 4-H Achievement Days and 4-H Recognition Night; coordinate 4-H educational learning labs for the western half of ND.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
Requires a high school diploma or GED, and two years of office support or clerical experience should be able to work efficiently without supervision and have strong task management abilities; OR a combination of vocational education, training or experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities relevant to the position. Proficiency in keyboarding, personal computer, basic computer skills – Outlook, Word, & Excel, grammar, and/or spelling skills is required.
Valid Driver’s License Required.
Extensive 4-H Experience as a participant or volunteer is Strongly Preferred
