Description We are seeking an Assistant Controller to join our team based in BEACHWOOD, Ohio. In this role, you will be tasked with overseeing the daily operations of our finance department, reviewing and analyzing monthly ledger activity, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role is pivotal in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization.Responsibilities: Oversee the review and analysis of monthly ledger activity, ensuring all entries align with supporting documentation. Coordinate and oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements. Manage the preparation of quarterly and annual regulatory reports, ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements. Maintain and enforce internal controls and safeguards for the receipt and disbursement of revenues. Assist in the development of the annual budget and perform monthly budget-to-actual analyses. Supervise daily finance operations, including accounting and accounts payable functions. Manage and evaluate the performance of staff members within the accounts payable department. Lead departmental projects as needed and respond to requests from senior finance leaders. A minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting or finance role. Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems. Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). Experience with Month End Close procedures. Ability to prepare and analyze Financial Statements. Experience with Budgeting and Forecasting. Knowledge of Internal Control and Internal Control Review. Ability to perform Variance Analysis. Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is a plus. Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws regarding accounting, finances, and taxation.
