Job Title: Machine Operator Start This WeekJob DescriptionThe EDM Operator will perform required operations on EDM machines, which include loading and unloading parts, part inspection, electrode preparation and changing, preventive maintenance, and minor adjustments. The role involves preparing logs and records to document machine operation and daily production, entering required data into computers, transporting parts, and maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work area.Responsibilities
Perform operations on EDM machines including loading and unloading of parts, part inspection, and electrode preparation and changing.
Clean and perform preventive maintenance and minor adjustments of EDM machines.
Prepare logs (travelers) and records to document machine operation and daily production.
Enter required data into computer systems.
Transport parts to appropriate locations using rolling tables.
Maintain safe, clean, and orderly work areas.
Receive, review, and refer to various records or reports including travelers, shift reports, SOP, safety sheets, etc.
Prepare labor sheets and non-conformance forms.
Interact and communicate with immediate supervisor, co-workers, and other shop personnel.
Set up and switch jobs as required (training provided).
Produce more than 98% efficiency daily.
Maintain excellent attendance.
Verify all parts are conforming before signing off on travelers.
Keep track of all scrap and seek corrective action.
Essential Skills
High School Diploma or GED (cannot start without this on file).
Good basic computer skills.
Mechanical aptitude.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
CNC or other machine operation experience preferred.
Aerospace experience is a plus.
EDM experience is beneficial.
Experience with micrometers and calipers preferred.
