Position Summary:
Foxx Construction is seeking an experienced Commercial Carpenter skilled in metal stud framing, acoustical ceilings, door installation, trim work, and drywall hanging and finishing. The ideal candidate will have strong technical carpentry skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team on commercial job sites.
Key Responsibilities:
-Perform commercial metal stud framing and layout according to drawings and specifications.
-Install acoustical ceilings, drywall, and related finishing components.
-Hang, tape, and finish drywall to achieve a smooth and paint-ready surface.
-Install commercial doors, frames, and hardware.
-Perform trim and finish carpentry, ensuring clean lines and precise details.
-Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
-Measure, cut, and assemble materials using hand and power tools.
-Ensure all work meets quality standards and safety requirements.
-Collaborate with superintendents, project managers, and other trades on-site.
-Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
-Minimum 3–5 years of commercial carpentry experience.
-Strong knowledge of metal stud framing, drywall installation and finishing, acoustical ceiling systems, and commercial door
installation.
-Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
-Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment.
-Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights as needed.
-Reliable transportation and personal hand tools required.
-Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
-Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications:
-OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
