OverviewUsing discretion and independent judgement coordinate information sessions, application process, approval process, daily activity and disciplinary action for violators of the EM program. Responsibilities

Meet with electronic monitoring clients as often as required.

Evaluate client’s psychological and sociological needs and individualize treatment plan. Refer client to the appropriate community treatment resources in order to achieve his/her program goals.

Ensure that clients understand policies and procedures of their program and of the Harbor Light Complex.

Notify EM Coordinator when EM equipment needs to be ordered, is missing, or damaged for accountability and inventory.

Conduct home site investigations, complete evaluations and determine if placements are appropriate and acceptable for potential electronic monitoring clients.

Responsible for conducting or arranging home investigations for home passes. Ensure LEADS requests are sent to the State for background checks of family members at home pass or EM locations.

Accompany clients to approved EM sites to install the EM equipment – ensure that the equipment is functioning as required.

Strictly monitor all activities of EM clients by approving and reviewing daily movement of clients. This includes reviewing all texts sent by the monitoring agency throughout the day/night every day of the week.

Ensure that all EM clients provide a random urine specimen on reporting day and upon request.

Liaison with and facilitate communication with the Adult Parole Authority.

Send letters to potential Harbor Light residents before they leave the State institutions to notify them of the Electronic Monitoring program. Recruit residents for the EM program

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field plus one year monitoring experience with offenders.

Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field plus 2 years experience monitoring offenders.

ACA Standard compliance permitting – High School diploma plus mandatory 5 years of experience in the community corrections field including experience monitoring offenders.
