DescriptionThe Health and Safety Specialist will be responsible for the promotion and execution of Health and Safety (H&S) programs for Citizens Bank. The primary objective is to ensure we are delivering a safe and healthful property portfolio for our colleagues, customers and vendors.The Health and Safety Specialist plays a critical role in building a wellness and safety culture through colleague engagement, issue resolution, education and operational delivery.Primary responsibilities include:

Driving behavior to enable colleagues to work safely everyday

Developing and delivering engaging health and safety training content on-site, on-line or via toolbox talks

Promoting the personal benefits of embracing health and safety topics

Utilizing analytical data to develop training content that reduces risk for colleagues, customers and vendors

Conducting site visits to assess effectiveness of training content and adjusting as necessary

Developing processes and procedures

Supporting Citizens Bank H&S programs as required

Responding to issues and/or emergencies at various locations throughout the footprint

Providing identification, guidance, and oversight of industrial hygiene issues

Supporting the planning and execution of project work with asbestos /mold remediation and water/flood mitigation oversight

Developing a thorough working knowledge of properties under management and any unique risks they pose

Supporting Property Services staff in identification and resolution of facilities related issues

Ensuring H&S work orders (both reactive and preventative) are completed in a timely manner

Providing H&S awareness for colleagues

This role requires occasional travel to locations throughout the bank’s footprint. The chosen candidate will be required to work on in the field, at a regional office or performing site visits at least three days a week, unless traveling. QualificationsExperience and Skills:

3 or more years of Health, Safety and Environmental experience in a non-industrial setting

Ability to work under pressure with efficiency and accuracy

Ability to travel as required

Ability to assess, identify and mitigate risk issues, including the proper allocation and management of such risks

Possess strong organizational and planning skills to aid in prioritizing workload

Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills when interacting with branch and office colleagues, project teams and stakeholders

Strong MS Office skills including MS Word, MS Power Point, and MS Excel

Educational, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials:

Bachelor’s Degree required

OSHA Certification -10 hr preferred

Associate Safety Professional or Certified Safety Professional or Safety Management Specialist preferred
