Founded in 1837, Cuyahoga County’s safety-net health system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers.Summary:Coordinates process design, redesign, system build, system testing, and implementation of various medication information technologies, including interfaces and related information technology projects. Works on complex projects both as a member of a team and independently. Coordinates workflow analyses and the development of system designs to meet user requirements. Develops/updates user training tools and policies/procedures to support technologies. Works with other disciplines within The MetroHealth System. Develops on-going automated decision support tools related to the safe/effective use of medications, the documentation of medication transactions, and proper billing for medications. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.Qualifications:Required:

Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution.

Possess a current Pharmacy license for the state of Ohio through the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy.

Certified in Epic with familiarity with multiple Epic modules (e.g. Willow, EpicCare, etc.), OR obtains certification within 6 months of hire.

Meets one of the following:

2 years of experience in an acute care setting as a Pharmacist and/or Pharmacy Informatics Specialist.

Has completed a residency in Pharmacy Informatics.

Operational and clinical experience in an acute care setting.

Proficient with the administration of automated medication dispensing systems (i.e. Pyxis, Omnicell, or other robotic dispensing machines).

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to direct day-to-day activities and motivate his/her self independently.

Willing and able to travel to sites throughout The MetroHealth System as needed based on operational needs. This may mean traveling to multiple sites on the same day.

Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.Preferred:

Advanced degree in Pharmacy and/or Information Systems.

Certified as a Crystal Reports Writer.

Certified in Epic’s Willow software if assigned to Epic Pharmacy applications.

Experience with operating and/or supporting retail pharmacy computer systems with a preference for Rx30.

Active membership in one or more professional pharmacy organizations, and a previous record of research/publication.Physical Requirements:

May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.

May need to sit or stand for extended periods.

See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.

Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required.

May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion.

Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.

Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
