Scale Operator

We are seeking a qualified, responsible, reliable individual to join our company as a Cashier/Scale House Operator. As part of our team, you use a computerized scale to weigh incoming and outgoing vehicles, logging information on the computer relevant to each truck, including vehicle type, tags, and driver. You accurately record this data for billing purposes and perform regular audits to ensure appropriate billing. This position requires computer proficiency. Our ideal candidate has prior experience as Admin. Asst or Cashier doing detail work in transportation, trucking, construction or similar industrial workplace.The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and ensuring the smooth and safe day to day scale Operator activities in our office and at our scales in our yard. Duties Will IncludeCashier/Scale Operator Duties and ResponsibilitiesGreeting customers and having good customer Service skills Use a computer to record the weights of incoming and outgoing vehicles.Log information accurately into a centralized databaseCalculate costs for drivers based on vehicle weight.Maintain a safe, organized working environment.Working in our offices and yard ScalesSupporting the team on the Scale as an attendant, weighing Trucks as they come in & updating reports on the computer.Sorting and processing metal scrap pieces Computer skills needed to enter data & email. (Microsoft Office; outlook, word etc.)
